We partnered with a VC firm committed to advancing nature-based solutions, nature tech, and natural capital innovation. Their focus was building a portfolio at the intersection of ecology, technology, and finance—backing founders tackling biodiversity, carbon markets, sustainable land use, and ecosystem services. To scale, they required talent that could operate in ambiguity: commercially-minded investment professionals, operators fluent in science and systems change, and technical specialists at the edge of innovation.

The challenge was twofold: build high-calibre investment and platform teams within the VC firm itself, while also supporting their portfolio companies—often pre-product or pre-revenue—as they made critical early leadership and technical hires.

Solution

We ran targeted searches across investment, platform, and operating roles inside the venture firm, ensuring they had the internal capabilities to lead, scale, and support nature-positive portfolios. Simultaneously, we partnered with their portfolio companies to place founders’ first key hires: from CTOs and Heads of Science to commercial leads and generalists who could flex across growth and operations in early-stage, high-complexity environments.

Our candidate networks spans natural capital finance, carbon markets, geospatial data, regenerative agriculture, and ecological restoration.
